Product Details

Hulings really shows off with this composition. The scene is North Western France in May, although the woman washing came from an earlier trip to Romania.

The subtle values of a gray day, the many structural levels and architectural complexity, the delicate flowers and moving water all conspire to set the scene for Hulings' acrobatics of technique. Most of Hulings' work in France is either very rural, or marketplace-focused. This falls right in between and, as such, is both quintessential Hulings, and a little bit out of the ordinary. He just draws you right in.
